On the 6th of February, southeast Türkiye was hit with two earthquakes of magnitudes of 7.5 and 7.8 on the Richter scale. More than 1,500 aftershocks have been and continue to be recorded. The earthquakes are the greatest in the area in a century.
Approximately 13 million people in Türkiye and Syria have been affected. As of the 10th February, over 21,000 have lost their lives. Thousands have lost their homes. Search and rescue operations are still being carried out.
The Turkish Government has issued a Level 4 alarm, calling for international assistance.
